For readers who regularly follow my blog, you know that I came back earlier than expected from Paris because of some health problems. I didn’t want to talk about it until now, but I get more and more comments asking me questions
or even small mails of support and I thankful for it.Some of you guessed, it’s about my weight. Given that there’s always discussion in the comments about it, I never approve them and this will be the only time I speak about it, because my blog isn’t made for that
and I don’t want to share all my private life:)
Since 2/3 years I gained weight, at first I paid no attention, I thought it was because I didn’t pay attention. So I made diets, without success or I with a little loss, if any, or I just stabilized my weight and I gave up and I was back and so on.
Until this summer when it wasn’t going well, even with sports in addition to the diet: NOTHING.Finding it odd, my father advised me to go see an endocrinologist. This is what I did, after the analysis it turned out that my thyroid is low and it doesn’t work well. For those who don’t know the thyroid is a gland that secretes hormones that regulate metabolism. (If you want more information I recommend Wikipedia and others.)
Mine doesn’t work. I can do all the diets in the world, I won’t lose weight.
So I started a treatment (which is for life) in small doses to increase, but be aware that whenever you increase the dose it’s like starting from scratch, so I still can’t lose weight until the dose is right. After testing my levels a few days ago, it turns out that I was finally taking the right amount
(for the curious ones, I take every morning 125μ Levothyrox)!
I also learned that in fact if my thyroid is low, it’s because of an autoimmune disease (it reminds me of House MD ♡) which is called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, to be simple my body produces antibodies that attack the thyroid which destroys it slowly and you get the result! Now with a well balanced treatment everything should return to normal without a strict diet, because it is unhealthy. According to my doctor to eat it with « common sense »: eat everything in normal portions, avoid fat (like meat because I love raw ham) and also avoid sugar, but I shouldn’t deprive yourself. I could eat pasta for example, without anything on it, at every meal if I wanted, I would lost weight anyway. Of course physical effort with all this, he told me walking 30 minutes every day is fine. In short I’m not teaching you anything! 🙂
Well, I hope I have calmed down a bit your curiosity and I hope it will stop the anonymous douchebags who wonder if I try to eat until explosion, I would have liked it but unfortunately I keep going the toilets and never explode!
If you have any questions or anything, I will answer in the comment section, but this is the only exception,
I hope you understand 🙂xoxo
